The problem with the console vs pc debate always rages and both sides always claim victory.

A console will in the end cost you more than a pc, the console is priced to lure you in and then the games milk you dry. A console beating pc can now be build for almost the same price ( if you use tv as monitor) and you can pick up hundreds of great games for free on it too.

And not cr@pware, you can get bf3 for FREE right now how much will it cost on the ps4?

R849 with around 20% better performance( basically that of a gts 450 ). I think it is fair to say that is a great upgrade and technology has improved enough to make that possible!

still jugging along with my trusty club3d 5770 bought back in 2011 for R1499 i think ? But at the resolution im playing at it doesn't really bother me. I can still hit some games high / medium. Just keep it clean and the cpu pasted

anyways, got an i5 2nd gen with 8 gigs ddr3 1333 ram so im happy. Might need a psu upgrade in 2 years some more space soon .... but ja .... things are ridiculously expensive and its not good for all of us !!!!@!@!@!@!@!@

I said no specials to keep the playing field fair cause my 5670 was not on special.

i am also looking into getting a new card
looked at amazon to import one as its much cheaper,but the time to wait/tax etc,dont know if its worth it,maby if u buy more parts and it adds up to a saving of like 3k and 1k for tax,its still a 2K that i saved in the end

But yeah, Chaos was not cheap at all, they should have just taken their store online instead of closing all but one store.

Probably a 5770 their prices were around R999 at the time but that was on special. Prices are not going down sadly... the rand is too weak

Especially if you look at the upgrade cycle, PC's are upgraded every two + years. It may just be ram, maybe ram and CPU etc, then another year or two and its time for GPU and HDD.

If you bought a PS3 (which I have friends that did) at R6600 when it launched, they just replaced it +- 8 years later at a cost of R6300. In that same period I have spent close to 15k on my PC if not more and I can no longer upgrade it due to the MOBO and CPU, which means I need to buy a new PC again.

Personally I would always buy a PC for the versatility as I do more then just game on it, but I can understand why PC is losing market share.

There's no reason to upgrade that much every two years.

Also you didn't take the price difference between PC games and console games into account.
