YouTube rolling out revenue sharing for Shorts

Starting today, YouTube is rolling out its partner programme agreement that will see creators earn ad share revenue on their Shorts views.

Part of the agreement will include YouTube introducing new "Monetisation Modules", allowing creators more flexibility over how they earn money on the platform.

I will pay to disable them:whistling:
Yup. This is gonna be even more of channels turning old content into new shorts. Earn money twice on the same content. Can understand why they do it (especially if it's incentivized like this) but it's gonna become very annoying real soon unless there's a way to selectively block shorts from certain channels.

YouTube shorts are paying a whopping $0.02 - $0.04 per 1000 views.

I hate shorts, that’s why there’s TikTok for crap like that. Also reels on instcrap…

I made the mistake of watching a bunch of shorts a while back and now my feed is completely screwed. Recommended video's where consistently things I liked over the last few years and since watching the shorts my feed is screwed. Need to figure out how to reset it.

These funds can be used to train people how to rotate their phones sideways so that they can capture presentable footage.

Rewatch everything before the shorts and clear the history of shorts

Apparently they have fixed that issue now. Personally I haven't had the issue when watching shorts recently.

I’ll pay for premium if there is an option to hide portrait videos, especially shorts
Subscribing to a channel really needs an 'EXCLUDE SHORTS FROM NOTIFICATIONS' option. That kak just fills your feed.

That's R400-R800 per million views, not terrible.

I actually want the opposite, an option to only subscribe to a channels shorts, there's some amazing channels out there that make very interesting content but generally release 40min videos which I don't have time for but I’ll gladly watch the few Shorts they release just to keep up with what they are doing and maybe watch the full video if it looks interesting enough.

Vs R15000 - R60000 per million views for normal Videos

It’s better than the nothing they were getting previously, also they are much easier to make and make at volume and they drive viewers to their main videos, win/win.
