Youtube / Youtube Kids App streaming HD

Hi all

I have installed both the Youtube and Youtube Kids apps but these damned apps keep on streaming at 720p by default. Which is killing my data consumption (LTE over a Wifi connection). Neither of them give the option to force a certain resolution.

The apps always default to Auto which I guess detects the speed of your connection then adjusts your resolution. Is there any workaraound?

Changing Default YouTube Settings. When you're logged in to your YouTube account, you can change the default resolution setting by navigating to the Settings page. If your Internet speed is slower, select "I have a slow connection. Never play higher-quality video" and click "Save."
