ZADNA appoints .ZA Internet domain registry operator

The .ZA Domain Name Authority (Zadna) has appointed the ZA Registry Consortium (ZARC) as its administrative and technical service provider for .ZA commercial second-level domains.

The announcement comes after the two entities recently completed registry operator agreement (ROA) negotiations.

This news is good. Essentially - nothing will change - same faces. Why we all had to go through the process though seems to have been a waste of time. Technically ZADNA looks after the ZA Domain. In reality, DNS (Domain Name Services) does that job. If ZADNA disappeared - nothing would stop working. If the ZACR or more importantly, DNS disappeared - that would be a very serious problem! (One person used to do the job of ZADNA).

If ZADNA disappeared tomorrow we would all benefit from a reduction of registration / renewal fees as a % of each goes to them for doing didley squat. They are that incompetent that they cannot even arrange an MS teams meeting without remembering to send the participants the meeting link.

Well done ZACR and ISPA for pushing hard and ensuring that things carry on as usual.
