Zambia initiates 12 hour loadshedding until November

We just chatted to staff in our Lusaka office.
They've intiated 12 hour daily loadshedding due to the low water levels in the Kariba Dam.
Or because the state power company had not stuck to their maintenance shedule - if you listen to the opposition parties.

Africa does, what africa does... no surprise... Loadshedding is everywhere on this continent.

Does anyone know what is going on at Kariba by the way, is it still 'on the verge' of collapse, or is something being done to fix it now? Haven't seen any news about it in a while.

Certain parts of SA, the infrastructure that was done by white government was to cater for white minority needs to for all South Africans.

Ahhhh... so you see how the Apartheid government looked after its people? Today all the ANC want is to make a better life for themselves and close ones. They don't give a crap about their people. If only the people can open the eyes to see ...

Well at least they have certainty. Businesses can go out and spend money on solar/batteries/generators, because they now when and how long it is needed.

Waiting for the ball to drop with Eskom is very annoying. Never really knowing when they will get you. If not today, perhaps tomorrow? Oh wait, surprise, it is today!!!

if you notice this problem only exists in black countries cos they only know to steal tax payers money and are brainless don't have clue how to run a country

'Until November' south africa time, or 'Until November' world time? Cos, we've been hearing 1/2/3 more years for the last 8 years and it just gets worse. From the last month, my 4.5 hours load sheddings have been 7-10hours each(CoJ 8B and 3A will know what I'm talking about, takes longer to get us back on than actual load shedding)

Yes totally, I would be much happier if they just started being properly open and handling the situation properly.
Tell me I will be without power for four hours a day or whatever for the next 8 months and then stick to that and actually get on with it and fix the system.
