What I don't get is ISP's appearing to normalise this mangled definition of a typical internet user which they refer to as

Our target market has always been the responsible home user

So, playing games, listening to internet radio, watching the odd streaming movie trailer, checking email and sharing digital photographs by definition makes me an "irresponsible" home user. Cos by doing that 1gig, even 3 gigs, just doesn't cut it for us.

Hmmmf,

Does ICASA not have to approve this tarrif change from Telkom?
Are Zazu then pre-empting this approval ?

R149/GB?!

That's even worse than Telkom's proposed R80/GB, which is bad enough. I'm sorry, but 3GB is way too little for a person that actually uses the Internet, so how is 1GB going to cut it? And at that price?!

Pass.

Hmmf,

I'm not going to get to worried about this until Telkom's new pricing structure is approved and rolled out .....

"responsible home user" i dont like this company already, the statement has a telkom stench to it. but what do they care they arent targeting us theyre targeting noobies who are willing to pay over R400pm to check thier mail.

i dont see this new telkom tarrif structure coming into effect anyway, in fact i want to see them just try it...

lol, R149 * 3 = R447 for three gigs. They call this cheap? When the standard approved Telkom ripoff Rate for 3 gigs is around R250?

Just shows how the sharks out there are trying to exploit the "responsible" consumer.

Together with a DSL192 line from Telkom at R270 a month, the total bill will come to R419 per month.

Oh shuttup with that DSL192 rubbish. People want fast connections aswell. R420 p/m for 1Gb @ 192kbps is not affordable. Stop working backwards, making the faster packages cheaper first!

Zazu spokesman Francois Joubert says Zazu had made a decision not to participate in the “all-you-can-eat” hype around ADSL.

You Francois Joubert, and "Zazu" are a bunch of morons.

This company has opened up again, I remeber when the took 5000 dialup users into the dustbin with them, everyone mail got cut off it was a nightmare !

Well, hopefully people actualy see what this is ? anyway its intresting that they released it in itweb, then they get market coverage, but surley people who read itweb would go "no ****ing way"

Here is the official story Itweb Story "Rumba" aka Zazu
