So, when is zille going to resign since she has violated the Constitution? Unless you're white, all aspects of colonialism were negative.

That's the thing. She didn't violate the constitution.

Yet again she proves she is not fit to hold the office. The sooner she is removed the better. She needs to retire to Dubai now.

She hasn't done enough to justify a retirement in Dubai yet...

What was her mandate? Why is the PP investigating Zille's tweet? Is that within her powers? I don't understand?

And her ruling? WTF? I am no lawyer, but nothing in that tweet was unconstitutional. In fact it was very constitutional as she was expressing her right to free speech. Even the ULTRA SJW Piere De Vos thinks she is wrong!

As a someone whose first language is not English, I kinda like the fact that I grew up learning the language. It means I can easily consume media produced by some of the other English speaking countries in the language in which is was created. Unlike some European countries who have to get stuff dubbed.
I can also travel to large parts of the world and communicate in a language we both understand.

See, not that hard to find a positive in almost anything.

The PP was incorrect, thus she should resign instead of Zille.

Really? So you don't make use of any technology that was brought by colonialists?

He does, its just convenient to point out things when it suits the agenda. That's why I don't feed ANC trolls such as that one, and the other EFF supporter that comes here to s**tpost

Every single thing that came with it?

Every single aspect of colonialism was negative. There were things that came from Europe that were positive, but colonialism was not one of them. These positives could still have arrived on these shores through trade and mutual respect, the brutality of colonialism was not necessary and in fact held things back. How long were indigenous people denied access to these benefits because of colonialism? Most people only benefited after colonialism fell, before that it was restricted to the colonialists themselves. Look at all the countries in the world that were not subject to colonialism and yet, somehow, miraculously have access to European technologies. You need to differentiate between the things brought to this country from Europe, some of which were positive, with the brutality of colonialism which was all negative.

Land invaders came and stole land which had nothing on it and put stuff on it that Europe has had for centuries before. Colonialism falls, these things are still here.

I wonder how long it would have taken Africa to catch up had there been no colonialists.

Another absurd report by Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane

By Pierre De Vos

Public Protector advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane has had a rough time since taking office. First, she ordered Parliament to amend the Constitution – despite the fact that she had no power to do so. Then a High Court found that she was biased and lacked impartiality, as well as being dishonest and incompetent, and ordered her personally to pay a part of the legal costs in a case brought against her. Now she has released a report on Helen Zille’s highly problematic tweets on colonialism that is so legally misguided that it is difficult to believe that a qualified lawyer could write it in good faith.

But now Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane has provided Zille with a gift. By writing a truly bizarre report on the tweets, the Public Protector has given Zille an easy political win. Some of us who have been highly critical of her tweets will now have to point out that the Public Protector’s report is a legal nonsense and that it will be declared irrational and set aside by the courts if taken on review. This will allow Zille to look reasonable and rational in contrast

If you look at history, those positives came via colonialism. You cannot just edit out that part of history because you don't like it.

I don't see how it's difficult to understand that although colonialism had some terrible aspects, it did have some good as well. Oh well.

EDIT: Then again, look at what's left of what the colonialists left in a large part of the rest of Africa.

Edit: And please explain... 'brutality of colonialism', what aspects were 'brutal', 'all of it' doesn't cut it, we need details

Can't speak the truth these days. Yawn.

No, no you can't,
For example, a statement that white privilege is real would enrage many white people – despite being true and despite it being important to say so. While Zille’s tweets are on the other side of the political spectrum, if one follows the Public Protector’s logic, the Executive Members Ethics Code prohibits any member of the Executive to make such a statement.

This Public Protector has no idea what she is doing or even what she is supposed to be doing.

She gots to go. She's a remnant of Zuma's recruitment policy. Zuma liked them (1) loyal to himself, (2) then all else was bonus, so he tended to pick the barely qualified just to pass requirement muster.
