Major 5G vendor reveals plans for South African rollout

Higher quality video, cloud gaming, virtual reality, and greater automation will push South African mobile networks to roll out 5G coverage in the next few years.

That is according to one of the prominent 5G radio equipment providers in South Africa — Chinese telecoms giant ZTE.

Blah blah blah. I am a (forced by absence of fibre) user of Rain 5G and I can tell you it's shysterism. First battle (which you will lose) is to get the connection to the internet predictable. To get some faith that when you switch on there will be a connection. Forget it. You will have fastish internet at times. Punctuated by periods of sheet connections and ongoing talks with a support that just apologizes and fixes very little.
