This year’s iWeek Conference, hosted by ISPA (Internet Service Providers Association) and Uniforum SA, is host to a bold line up of speakers involved in the Internet arena.
The conference will be held from the 4th to the 7th of September in the Kyalami Castle. Speakers will range from the renowned DotCom billionaire Mark Shuttleworth to the likes of people like ICANN founding member Ester Dyson and UniFi Knysna Project founder David Jarvis.
Other speakers present at the conference are: Mark Todes (Director, Korbitec and ex Co-Chair of ISPA for a number of years), David Frankel (Co-Founder, Internet Solutions and first Co-Chair of ISPA), Ferdinand Tjombe (ISPA Namibia), Iyavar Chetty (Film & Publications Board SA), Veni Markovski (ICANN Board and ISOC Board of Trustees) and Dr Tracey Cohen (ICASA).
According to Greg Massel, co-chair of ISPA, this conference represents the ideal place to network within the South African ISP arena.
"Because iWeek attracts a highly-focused audience of IT executives, techies, strategists and vendors; exhibitors will benefit from being able to explore ideas and potential opportunities with like-minded people who could turn out to be valuable contacts, valued customers or invaluable mentors," explained Mr Massel.
Some of the themes for this years conference include: "The Internet in South Africa: The Last 10 Years & the Next 10 Years", "The Wireless Internet Boom, VoIP & Spam", "Regulatory Development: Who is Watching What?", and finally "Interception, Data Retention and Content".
