The Department of Communications (DoC) has become notorious for its slow-moving, lethargic approach to telecoms liberalization. So what can be done to invigorate the Communications Ministry?
Veni Markovski, chair of the board for the Internet Society in Bulgaria, suggested that interested stakeholders bring their concerns to the DoC.
“If you want the government to solve your problem you have to make your problem a problem for the government,” said Markovski.
Markovski suggested that interested parties approach the media and basically created enough pressure so that government is unable to ignore the issue.
This idea fits in with one of the prevailing themes expressed by other speakers at iWeek of encouraging a proactive approach accompanied by effective lobbying.
