iBurst Users Experiencing Connectivity Problems
Users in this region have reported faults on the Sunnyside, Menlo and Wonderboom towers.
MyADSL members reported network degradation from around the 14th of November but WBS helpdesk informed MyADSL that they have had problems in this region for the past 2 weeks.
The information filtering down from the WBS helpdesk is that the Sunnyside and Wonderboom towers are now fully functional after their technicians did a maintenance check on both towers.
The Menlo tower was down for a large part of this morning but the problem was identified and solved at around 11 am today according to Jackie Hendricks, media relations at WBS.
The initial problems were from interference between the three towers according to the helpdesk operator.
He was able to add that WBS is installing bigger switches and doing a quick upgrade and maintenance on the Menlo base station.
Hendricks said that iBurst users should go to the website for details about the technical problems with the iBurst towers.
She was unable to give specifics about this particular issue but assured users that all the information they needed would be on their website shortly.
The current status of the Menlo tower on the website reads: “Critical backhaul failure causing base station outage.”
