ICASA awards OpenVoice a Switching Systems licence

OpenVoice focuses on the design, delivery and implementation of converged telecommunications systems via open source platforms. The new licence, the first awarded to an open source system internet protocol provider in South Africa, allows it to connect, operate and maintain its VoIP (voice over internet protocol) gateway on the public switched telephone network.

Said Clayton Hayward, head of group strategy: "Obtaining the licence ensures we can continue to work closely with and support ICASA’s objective of lowering corporate and consumer communication costs.
