Microsoft updates Internet Explorer

The report says the success of IE7 will be critical for reviving Microsoft’s reputation for security, observing that IE has lost market share in the past year to rival browsers such as Firefox, which trades heavily on its reputation as a more secure alternative.

IE still accounts for around 90% of the browser market, maintaining its long-held dominance, but the report says Microsoft is aware consumers are becoming more conscious of cyber-crime.
