Telkom Workers Strike
Solidarity spokesman Jaco Kleynhans said that they received the Telkom offer too late on Friday to inform all their members and to gather feedback regarding this revised offer .
The new deal will be considered today and according to Kleynhans their members will decide on whether to accept or decline the proposal. If the offer is declined more industrial action is likely.
Telkom said that while they are closely following the proceedings, they have not seen exactly how many employees will partake in the strike and therefore do not have a clear idea of what the impact will be.
Telkom did add that there are measures in place, using both permanent employees and contract staff, to minimize the impact of this strike on customers.
