Vodacom CEO denies move to Telkom

In a media statement issued today Knott-Craig denied that he had applied for the position and stated firmly that he had not been approached regarding the Telkom CEO position.

Knott-Craig reaffirmed his position at Vodacom, “I am quite happy in my current role as Chief Executive Officer of Vodacom Group and intend remaining there at the pleasure of the Vodacom shareholders.”

With Telkom’s future looking a bit murky due to increased pressure from government and ICASA regarding the reduction of telecoms costs the incoming CEO will be hard pressed to provide shareholders with the dividends they have become accustomed to.
