WBS network outage frustrates iBurst users
The users on the MyADSL forum have been venting their frustration at the downtime and at 12:18pm today Johannesburg and Pretoria were still down but the towers in Cape Town and Durban were back in working order.
An irate iBurst customer contacted the WBS helpdesk and the official response was: “All base stations are down, something must have hit us.”
The helpdesk was obviously overloaded as the helpdesk assistant reported that they had been inundated with calls since 12:00 today. The only information helpdesk had at hand is that it is a hardware failure and that “the problem was on the switch”.
The technicians have been working furiously on this problem for over and hour but according to helpdesk none of the stations are in full working order as yet.
Unfortunately WBS was unavailable for official comment at the time of publishing this article.
