Samsung is the world’s largest producer of memory chips and LCD televisions. Both companies have been locked in a dispute over the intellectual property rights relating to LCD technology.
Sharp was successful in November when the ITC upheld a complaint against Samsung for violating the Japanese company’s patents.
It also imposed a ban on the import of the affected products into the US, a decision which is currently under review by US authorities.
