MTN rings up 48.2 Million subscribers
MTN announced its latest results – for the six months which ended 30 June 2007 – today and according to the company it has significantly increased both its subscriber numbers and revenue.
MTN said that their subscriber numbers are up 20% to 48.2 million from December 2006. 13 412 000 of their subscribers are from South Africa.
The company further said that their revenue increased by 69% to R34.2 billion, up from R 20.2 Billion over the same period last year.
Profit after tax ("PAT`) increased 16.8% to R6.3 billion compared to the R5.4 billion for the six months to 30 June 2006.
