ADSL rules, but dial-up just won’t die
Effective Measure has released its demographic statistics for November 2014, which show that 43% of South African website visitors use ADSL to access the Internet.
Effective Measure is the official traffic measurement partner of the IAB South Africa, and provides accurate website statistics and demographics data for South Africa’s top websites.
Effective Measure gathers demographics data about local Internet users through online surveys, and in November 2014 the company conducted 171,769 surveys on South African Internet users.
According to the results 43% of South African Internet users access local websites through ADSL, while 34% use wireless networks, and 32% mobile networks.
An interesting revelation is that 5% of South Africans still use dial-up to serve their Internet needs.
