New HTC smartphones released
Official distributors for HTC in South Africa, Leaf Communications, have today announced the release of a number of new handsets to the local market.
The HTC Legend, HTC Smart and HTC Desire will be available in leading outlets from the 1st of May according to Leaf.
HTC Legend
The Legend is an Android 2.1 based smartphone which was internationally released in March. It features a 3.2 inch AMOLED touchscreen, an optical trackpad, MicroSD support for up to 32GB, HSDPA 7.2Mbps support and a 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus and an LED flash.
HTC Smart
The Smart is HTC’s smallest and most affordable touchscreen device. It features a 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen, MicroSD support for up to 16GB, HSDPA 3.6 Mbps and a 3.15 Megapixel camera.
HTC Desire
The Desire is an Android 2.1 based smartphone which features a 3.7 inch AMOLED touchscreen, MicroSD support for up to 32GB with 4GB on onboard storage, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps support and a 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus and an LED flash.
Although Leaf confirmed that the HTC Smart will retail for R2499 on prepaid, arguably making it one of the cheapest smartphones currently available on the local market, pricing details for the HTC Desire and HTC Legend have not yet been released.
