Mythbusters shark dive in virtual reality
Discovery has launched short-form virtual reality videos and 360-degree experiences which it calls Discovery VR.
Among the first videos shot in the experimental format is a shark dive with the Mythbusters team.
Currently, Discovery VR is available via a mobile app for Android and iPhone, with a “more immersive experience” available through Google Cardboard and Samsung Gear VR.
Support for the Oculus Rift is “coming soon”, Discovery said on its website.
Other Discovery VR clips include those from Gold Rush, entitled “Pay Dirt”, Survivorman’s “How to survive in the wild”, and freeboarding and surfing videos.
