Asus Chromebit – memory stick-sized computer for R1,200

Asus and Google have launched the Chromebit – a full computing device running Chrome OS that is the size of a memory stick.

The Asus Chromebit is powered by a Rockchip ARM quad-core processor, with dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 support. The device offers 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM.

The Chromebit turns a monitor or TV into a computer, and is plugged in via an HDMI connection.

“We also have a list of qualified Bluetooth keyboards, mice, and USB hubs. No matter how you want to attach peripherals, Chromebit CS10 has you covered,” said Asus.

The Asus Chromebit is available for $85 (just over R1,200) from Amazon, Fry’s, and Newegg in the United States.
