Microsoft slips in Top IT Business Brands survey
The latest Business Times Top Brands Survey places Hewlett-Packard at the top of the list of IT Brands in the business space. With a brand relationship score of 16% it was well ahead of Dell at 11% and Mecer/Mustek with 10%.
The biggest story of the survey was however not Hewlett-Packard’s 4.4% increase from last year but rather Microsoft’s 7.8% decrease. Microsoft led the Business IT rankings last year with 15.8%, but its 2007 score of 8% was only good enough for fourth place this year.
In the Electric and Electronic Goods department, LG tops the list with 19%, followed by Defy with 16.8% and Panasonic with 9.5%.
The Business Times Top Brands survey involved in depth interviews with 3 476 consumers and 416 business executives, measuring a brand relationship score comprising of spontaneous awareness, trust and confidence and commitment.
