MTN launches Nokia N8
MTN claims that they are the first operator to market with the Nokia N8, having made it available yesterday.
“We have taken a deliberate device strategy to focus on handsets that matter most to our customers. To this end, we have made the iconic Nokia N8 available. As of yesterday, MTN customers can purchase this iconic device from selected MTN retail stores,” says Serame Taukobong, chief marketing officer at MTN South Africa.
The Nokia N8 features a 12-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and a Xenon flash for capturing photos and 720p high definition video.
Nokia’s latest smartphone is equipped with a full 3.5” OLED capacitive touchscreen and 16GB internal storage. It also comes bundled with a six month subscription to Ovi Music Unlimited.
“The smartphones we have introduced to date on our network including the Apple iPhone 4 and the BlackBerry Torch, are underpinned by the significant investment we have made in our network to ensure that it meets the exacting bandwidth demands of these smart devices,” continues Taukobong.
Earlier this month Nokia had opened pre-orders on the N8 through NokiaStuff for R4 799 including delivery.
