Most online tech support ads are scams: Microsoft
Tech support scammers who advertise online will no longer have their ads displayed on Microsoft’s Bing search engine.
“Bing Ads disallows the promotion of third party online technical support services to consumers because of serious quality issues that can impact end user safety,” said Microsoft.
It said it wanted to create a safe online experience for its users and advertisers, and scams like the “Microsoft Tech Support” call or online ad scam detracted from that experience.
Microsoft asked Bing users to report ads which they felt violated Bings advertising policies.
