10 Mbps business uncapped ADSL pricing comparison
Telkom started upgrading ADSL lines from 4 Mbps to 10 Mbps in August, focusing on areas where there are a high ratio of 4 Mbps subscribers and where it makes commercial sense.
It is not surprising that many businesses benefitted from Telkom’s free ADSL speed upgrades, but until recently there were no uncapped 10 Mbps ADSL services available to these subscribers.
Iin early October MWEB Business was first to offer an uncapped 10 Mbps package aimed at the business market, which comes bundled with 5 fixed IP addresses, 300 free Wi-Fi minutes and a Cisco router worth R3,999.
Openweb, through their upstream provider Internet Solutions, followed suit three weeks later with their uncapped, unshaped static IP product range. These services also come with 5 static IP addresses and promises good overall service levels.
Vodacom Business has now thrown their hat into the ring with their 8192 kbps and 10240kbps Business DSL offerings, competing directly against MWEB Business and Internet Solutions in the high end ADSL business market.
Performance, stability and redundancy is of great importance to business subscribers, and while higher prices can be expected in the business market affordability remains a key consideration to many companies.
The following table provides an overview of the pricing of the latest 8 Mbps and 10 Mbps uncapped business offerings.
