The new Android features you can only get on the Google Pixel

Google recently unveiled its new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, which are set to compete against the likes of Apple’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

A key difference between the Apple devices and the Google handsets is the operating system – with the Pixel set to run a custom version of Android 7.1.

Android Police has detailed the change log for Android 7.1, which shows the features which will be exclusive to the Pixel devices.

The main features are detailed below.

• Pixel Launcher – swipe up for all apps, new Search Box, date/weather header on home.
• Google Assistant.
• Unlimited original quality photo/video backup to Google Photos.
• Smart Storage – automatically removes old backed-up files.
• Phone/Chat support, screen-share functionality.
• Quick switch adapter for wired setup from Android or iPhone.
• Pixel Camera.
• Sensor Hub processor with tightly-integrated sensors.
• New set-up look and feel.
• Dynamic calendar date icon.
