Google Daydream View VR headset launch date announced

Google has announced that its Daydream View virtual reality headset will go on sale from 10 November.

It will be available through the online Google Store and at retailers in five countries:

• United States: Verizon, Best Buy; $79
• Canada: Bell, Rogers, Telus, Best Buy; $99
• United Kingdom: EE, Carphone Warehouse; £69
• Germany: Deutsche Telekom; €69
• Australia: Telstra, JB Hi-Fi; $119

Google unveiled the Daydream View at the start of October during the launch event for its Pixel range of smartphones.

The Daydream View is the first headset for Daydream virtual reality, while Google’s Pixel range of smartphones are the first Daydream-ready devices.

Platforms available on Daydream at launch include Hulu VR, Google Play Movies, and YouTube VR.
