Masterpass now accepted at SnapScan merchants

South Africans can now use Masterpass to pay their bill at over 30,000 SnapScan merchants in South Africa, MasterCard announced.

To pay, Masterpass users need to scan a SnapCode – SnapScan’s QR code – displayed at a point of sale or online at any SnapScan merchant.

You then enter the payment amount into the Masterpass app and confirm the transaction with your ATM PIN or a one-time PIN sent to your mobile phone.

MasterCard said the integration of Masterpass with SnapScan delivers benefits for consumers, banks, and merchants.
