Internet Solutions goes with Accuris for its Wi-Fi networks
Internet Solutions has partnered with Accuris Networks for systems to consolidate its various independent Wi-Fi networks across Africa.
The companies said the partnership enables a carrier-grade, homogenous network – accessible anywhere with a single sign-on.
Mobile operators can use the network for Wi-Fi offload services to address capacity demands, while inbound roamers can resell Wi-Fi to subscribers who require broadband while travelling.
ISPs can monetise connectivity in venues and hospitality locations using the managed captive portal and landing page services for private Wi-Fi networks – an offering which is common in South Africa, but less so elsewhere in the region.
Elements of the Accuris Wi-Fi Server platform Internet Solutions is using are:
- Accuris eNAC captive portal system for scalability and multi-tenancy required by service providers.
- Accuris eAAA server to support diverse authentication, security, and identity management protocols.
- Accuris eAnalytics, a Hadoop-based big-data collection, analysis, and presentation module.
- Accuris CONNECT, which facilitates inter-connectivity between other Wi-Fi hub platforms.
