CPA opens doors for IT industry

One aspect that hasn’t been bantered around a lot is the great opportunities out there for IT companies.

Roger Knowles, speaking at Dimension Data’s Accelerate 2011 conference, urged IT companies to start preparing now for the great opportunities that are arising due to the CPA.

According to Knowles, the CPA will require companies to have greater capacity and measurability than before which will create a gap for innovative IT companies to fill.

The example he used was with prepaid vouchers. Currently many vouchers are valid for a few months but under the CPA the limit is now 3 years.

This is a great opportunity for IT companies to assist in storing and archiving information of this nature and assuring that this information is instantly searchable.

Another opportunity for the IT industry that Knowles highlighted was the requirement that a company’s database interface with a central database frequently to ensure that digital data is not sent to the incorrect people.

So whilst the CPA can be onerous in certain situations for businesses on the flip side it will allow many entrepreneurs and fast-thinking businesses to score.
