Telecoms Consumer Rights Month
The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) will focus on raising consumer awareness regarding the provisioning of telecommunications, broadcasting and postal services.
As part of the awareness campaign, ICASA will officially launch Consumer Rights Month in support of the International Consumer Rights day on the 15 th of March.
The purpose of the Consumer Month is to make consumers aware of their rights to:
- Access to Information Communications and Technology services
- Affordable prices
- Quality services
- Choice
According to ICASA: ‘Consumer Awareness is about the authority’s function of interfacing with the public, public outreach, information dissemination to all regardless of the status in society as well as consumer complaints handling procedures.’
