Big pay day for Venters
Bill Venter, founder and chairman of the Altron group , owns 33,12% of the target com-pany, Zetex, holding more than 34,4-million shares personally and through family trusts. That makes him the largest shareholder in the business.
His son Robbie, Altron CEO, holds 161000 Zetex shares and has served as a nonexecutive director since 1993.
Zetex, a British chip maker, has accepted an offer of 85,45p a share from Diodes , a US-based chip maker, putting Bill Venter in line to receive £29,4m (R452,9m-R455m). Robbie Venter will receive £137,574 (about R2,1m).
