LulzSec hacker pleads not guilty in Sony case

A member of internet hacktivist group, LulzSec, accused of taking part in a cyber attack on Sony Pictures Entertainment film studios has pleaded not guilty.

Twenty three year old Cody Kretsinger entered a not guilty plea to one count of conspiracy and one count of unauthorised impairment of a protected computer in a U.S. district court on Monday.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Victor Kenton set a December 13 trial date for Kretsinger, and ordered that the hacker be represented by a court-appointed public defender.

According to a nine-page federal grand jury indictment, Kretsinger who went by the handle “recursion”, helped post information he and his co-conspirators stole from Sony on LulzSec’s website and announced the intrusion via the hacking group’s Twitter account.
