Post Office CEO in corruption probe

Post Office chief executive Motswanesi Lefoka has been put on leave pending a corruption probe, board chairwoman Vuyo Mahlati said on Tuesday.

“She has been placed on a leave of absence pending the outcome of hearings,” said Mahlati. This happened last Friday.

Mahlati said Lefoka was considered innocent until proven guilty, and was partly responsible for the Sapo’s seventh profitable year in a row.

Last Friday also saw a mutual agreement on the termination of chief operating officer John Wentzel’s contract.

There was no golden handshake involved, just “contractual” matters, Mahlati said.
