IS DC false alarm
Smoke coming from one of Internet Solutions’ (IS) Bryanston data centres raised fire concern among some observers – good news is that it was not a fire, but instead the fire-suppression system which produced the smoke.
Internet Solutions executive, Greg Montjoie said that it is currently not clear what triggered the fire-suppression system in the data centre, and that it may have been a manual trigger, which will be investigated.
Montjoie said that while they are currently investigating the issue, there does not seem to be any service disruption caused by the fire-suppression system.
The company is conducting an investigation into the event and promised more clarity as more details emerge.
