LinkedIn acquires SlideShare
LinkedIn has acquired content-sharing platform, SlideShare.
The professional social network absorbed SlideShare for $119 million in cash and stock.
Founded in October 2006, SlideShare is a sharing platform for business documents, videos and presentations, allowing users to find and share professional media content.
SlideShare is also enabling the sharing of presentations and content throughout the web, as nearly 7.4 million SlideShare presentations are embedded across 1.4 million unique domains.
The acquisition seemed a natural move for both companies after SlideShare recently deepened their integration with LinkedIn.
