Dimension Data acquires SRC Angola
Dimension Data has acquired a 51% stake in SRC, an Angola-based IT solutions company. The acquisition marks the launch of Dimension Data Angola, with its offices based in Luanda.
The Middle East and Africa has been a key territory for Dimension Data’s expansion strategy with 25 offices already located in 12 countries. Dimension Data’s growth strategy in this region has been characterised largely by partnering with local companies that have in-depth knowledge and experience in the local market.
SRC Angola, established in 1996, has provided technology and communication solutions in the local market for over 12 years.
"Dimension Data Angola will be able to provide services and solutions ideally tailored to the local, Angolan market," says Bruno De Carvalho, MD: Dimension Data Angola. "The Angolan economy has undergone a period of transformation in recent times and has emerged as the fastest growing economy in Africa. This growth can be partly attributed to its wealth of natural resources," he explains.
With oil being one of the country’s greatest exports, many multinational organisations are based in Angola, some of which are existing customers of Dimension Data.
