Web Africa joins the one-price ADSL club
Through utilizing Telkom’s ADSL Resell product many ISPs designed new one-price offerings, with Cybersmart, MWEB and others taking the lead. Web Africa joined the fray and boast that customers no longer need to apply for their ADSL line from Telkom.
According to Matthew Tagg, MD of Web Africa, this new service offers significant benefits for consumers. “Web Africa’s DSL Complete packages will save customers time and money,” he says.
“Customers now only need to deal with their ISP to get the full access package – they don’t need to go through the protracted process of applying for ADSL lines through Telkom. A big bonus is that customers pay no set-up costs.”
Web Africa’s DSL Complete bundles start at R275 (incl. VAT) for a 384k line and 1 Gig account and are offered month-to-month or on contract. The ISP is offering a free DSL four port router to customers who sign two year contracts.
This compares favourably with MWEB’s R299 per month for a similar offering, but MWEB clients have the advantage of a free modem with a month-to-month contract. For higher usage accounts Cybersmart’s 384 Kbps line with a 3 GB account, priced at R339-00 per month, is tough to beat.
