The South Korean tech giant has dubbed the S25 series devices “true AI companions“, and they received a slew of new AI features over the previous generation.

These include Google’s Gemini platform on-device, cross-app agentic capabilities, and enhancements to other Galaxy AI features.

According to Google, agentic systems, or those that help users complete tasks, are the next frontier of AI technology.

The Galaxy S25 series supports cross-app agentic capabilities, meaning users can get real-time feedback from Gemini on various tasks, including finding clothes that fit and testing new recipes.

“Just press and hold the side button to activate Gemini and perform seamless interaction across Samsung and Google apps, plus third-party apps such as Spotify,” said Samsung.

“These intuitive interactions are elevated by expansions to Galaxy AI’s popular tools for communication, productivity and creativity.”

Users can also activate screen sharing and live video streaming with Gemini. The AI understands natural speech and prompts, allowing users to converse with their device like a human.

Other AI features include call transcripts and summaries, writing and drawing assistance, and enhanced Circle to Search.

Samsung introduced Circle to Search with the Galaxy S24 series. It enables users to circle any item in an image to search for more information about that particular item.

It should be noted that the Ultra is available with a 16GB RAM configuration in other markets. However, South Africa only gets the model with 12GB of RAM.

Locally, the standard S25 and the S25+ are only available with 256GB of storage, while S25 Ultra buyers can choose from 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB of internal storage.

The Ultra retained a similar quad camera setup to recent years, comprising a 200MP primary shooter, two 50MP sensors, and a 12MP telephoto camera.

One of the 50MP sensors is a periscope telephoto camera, while the second acts as an ultrawide shooter.

The Galaxy S25 and S25+ get similar rear camera setups, featuring a 50MP primary unit, a 12MP ultrawide sensor, and a 10MP telephoto camera.
