GTA 6 pre-order date announced
Take-Two Interactive Software will open pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI on June 25, kicking off the launch of one of the most anticipated video games of all time.
Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will officially begin on June 25 on digital storefronts and at other select retailers.
Take-Two shares jumped 3.4% after the announcement as the market opened in New York on Thursday. They are down 8.2% this year, compared with a 9.6% gain in the S&P 500 Index.
The start of pre-orders suggests that the open-world video game produced by Take-Two’s Rockstar Games studio won’t be delayed again, and will stick to its 19 November launch.
Fans have speculated whether the game will be priced above $70 (R1,149).
Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be one of the biggest video games ever. The previous entry in the long-running crime drama series has sold more than 225 million copies.
In a recent interview, chief executive officer Strauss Zelnick said he was both excited and terrified about the expectations surrounding the game.
