Uncapped ADSL sale

In 2009 there was a shake-up in the uncapped ADSL market, with DigiChilli and Screamer Telecoms launching low speed uncapped ADSL accounts for less than R500 per month, and both Vodacom Business and Screamer Telecoms launching 4Mbps Uncapped offerings.

Up to last year uncapped ADSL accounts were mostly the domain of Internet Solutions, who over the years had become the de facto standard for high usage ADSL offerings aimed at the business market.  These accounts – which typically offered subscribers speeds of up to 1 Mbps – sell for between R2500 and R3000 per month.

Vodacom Business’ 4Mbps uncapped ADSL accounts were first announced in early 2009 and they targeted “small and medium sized businesses looking for good performance and flexibility”.  Most Internet Service Providers sold these high speed uncapped ADSL accounts for between R2599 and R2799, but Openweb has now announced that it is offering the service at R2399 per month and is further waiving any setup fees.

“I have discovered that there are too many folks still paying above R3000 for a 1Mbps ADSL Uncapped solution, thus I have launched this special to allow these folks to break free from their overpriced solutions, and purchase a faster and more reliable solution at a lower price,” said Keoma Wright, Founder of OpenWeb.

Openweb pointed out that the Vodacom Business 4Mbps Uncapped offer does not require any long term contract, but warns that the sale ends on Wednesday 3 February.
