ODS launches uncapped ADSL solution
"Online Digital Solutions, a pioneer in the uncapped ADSL market, today released the first 4 Megabit Uncapped solution with no usage limits,” the company said in a press statement.
ODS further said that they have added four low-latency uncapped packages aimed at individuals who require low latency connections to international servers.
“These are perfectly suited for both VoIP and gaming applications and offer a low international latency of 250 ms,” ODS says.
Shaped ADSL services can suffer from high latency during certain times of the day, negatively affecting services like VoIP and online gaming. This is something which ODS says will not happen with their uncapped solutions.
“With our recent purchase of IPC bandwidth (direct connection into the Telkom ADSL network) we are now able to offer the market unique solutions as well as give the customer the choice of which backbone they would like the traffic routed on,” says Dean Henstock, Managing Director of ODS.
“We have designed packages in conjunction with input from our users with a 192k uncapped fiber package aimed at the gaming market, and the 1 – 4 Mb solutions aimed at businesses who are looking to replace their current Diginet solutions."
The price for their uncapped fiber offerings starts at R 627-00 for a 192 Kbps service and R 1 214-00 for a 384 Kbps offering. The higher end 1 Mbps service is priced at R 3 288-90 and the 4 Mbps offering costs R 13 155-60.
