ADSL Shootout
The recent MyADSL broadband survey, which attracted 1597 respondents, pitted the various broadband services, wholesale ADSL providers and Internet Service Providers against each other.
Various parameters, including download and upload speeds, value for money, latency, reliability and support were measured.
ADSL wholesale providers
To accurately compare the performance of the three main wholesale ADSL providers, namely SAIX, Internet Solutions and Verizon Business, the performance of these providers on a 4 Mbps connection was used.
The two main service offerings from Telkom’s SAIX – standard shaped ADSL and unshaped ADSL – were also compared in this survey.
The various uncapped ADSL offerings from Internet Solutions were however not included in the final results due to the speed restrictions and limited user feedback regarding these offerings.
Results
