640 Kbps ADSL upload trial completed
Telkom launched a pilot project in February to test the increased upload speed of its 4 Mbps DSL product. This pilot involved increasing the minimum downstream sync rate to 640 kbps.
Marius Mostert, Group Executive for National Infrastructure Provisioning, said: “This will improve the service experience of the Fastest DSL product by increasing the maximum upload sync rate and effectively reduce response times.”
Telkom has confirmed that it has now successfully completed this pilot and is busy analyzing the results for a potential commercial launch.
“Results are currently being analysed and Telkom will only communicate further once this process is completed,” said Nabintu Petsana, Telkom’s Acting Group Executive for Corporate Communications.
Telkom previously confirmed that its 4 Mbps DSL subscribers will be upgraded to higher upload speeds free of charge.
