ADSL upload speed to increase soon

Telkom has recently concluded a successful 640Kbps ADSL trial and will soon upgrade 4Mbps customers to higher upload speeds.

Telkom has however indicated that the trial unveiled some backhaul constraints in their network, and that subscribers will only be upgraded to 512Kbps and not the 640Kbps associated with the trial.

The upgrade is expected to take place towards the end of June, although some ADSL VPN clients are already enjoying the benefits of higher upload speeds.

Telkom has previously indicated that the speed upgrade will be free to all 4Mbps ADSL subscribers.
