Vodacom Business ADSL
Vodacom Business recently launched its ADSL service aimed firmly at the business sector. This service forms part of the current Vodacom Business access services, complementing its HSDPA and WiMax offerings.
“The ADSL service from Vodacom Business is available to business customers, including SMMEs, SoHo, enterprise and government organisations and has been developed to provide business-grade access for internet connectivity and access to our Vodacom Business’ MPLS network,” Vodacom Business said.
“Currently our ADSL services form an integral part of our end-to-end solutions in conjunction other Vodacom Business services such as hosting, VPN (virtual private networks) or our VoIP (voice over Internet protocol) service.”
Vodacom says that the current pricing for its business ADSL services include both broadband Internet and IPC + ADSL, but trying to establish what the actual pricing is can be a daunting task.
Calling the Vodacom Business helpdesk serves little purpose as the consultant simply takes your details so that you can be visited by a sales consultant. The helpdesk assistants do not seem to have any knowledge about the Vodacom Business products and simply serves of lead generation for the company’s sales staff.
Despite numerous attempts and avenues to get any indication as to the pricing of Vodacom’s ADSL product the exercise proved fruitless.
Vodacom explains the secrecy around price as follows: “As our ADSL services currently form part of integrated solutions and are only being sold by the Vodacom Business’ sales team, we have not published any details on pricing to the public at large.”
Vodacom Business says, however, that it is planning to broaden its ADSL offering in the near future to address the need for an alternative broadband access solution expanding their current range of mobile broadband services.
