Vox Telepreneur cuts ADSL prices
The South African broadband market has seen many new products being launched in recent months, which includes unified broadband packages and lower rate broadband bundles.
These new offerings are typically aggressively priced, a logical choice when trying to gain market share in a competitive arena. This places pressure on more established players to also reduce their rates to remain competitive, a trend which has now started to unfold.
The latest company to cut the price of its ADSL offerings is Vox Telepreneur. The company recently launched a standard 1 GB shaped ADSL account, which includes 1 GB of data, at a price of R 50.00 per month. The cost of additional bandwidth is also R 50 per GB.
An advantage of the ADSL products from Vox Telepreneur is their ‘flexible cap’ which means that users can set their own monthly usage limit, and then only pay for the data they use. “If you set your limit to 5GB and use only 3.6GB in total, we will only bill you for an additional 3GB over your 1GB package, not the full 5GB,” the Vox website explains.
At R 50 per GB it is one of the lowest priced offerings in the market. In comparison Telkom charges R 79 per month for their 1 GB shaped bandwidth account while top ups cost R 64.76 per GB.
