Web Africa cuts ADSL prices
Web Africa has announced that it will cut the price of its high end ADSL packages. The price of a 20 GB ADSL service will be reduced from R 1,140 to R 980 while the ISP’s 30 GB package is slashed by R 100 from R 1,570 to R 1,470. The cost of a 50 GB data bundle is reduced from R 3,700 to R 2,450 and a 100 GB bundle is cut from R 6,500 to R 4,900. Web Africa’s lower end packages will remain unchanged for now, the company said.
The new pricing means that all of Web Africa’s high end ADSL packages will now be priced at R 49.00 per GB. The current high-end tariffs range between R 52 per GB and R 74 per GB.
Over the last three months a few ISPs have announced ADSL price cuts, including Vox Telepreneur which now charges R 50 per GB on all of its ADSL bundles and G-Connect which dropped its prepaid ADSL price from 6.5c per MB to 4.9c per MB.
It is further rumoured that Cybersmart is set to announce new ADSL pricing soon while other ISPs will come under increasing pressure to also cut their bandwidth prices if they wish to remain competitive.
The new Web Africa pricing will kick in on 1 September.
