Mango ADSL at 3.7c per MB

Mango recently announced the launch of its Internet offering G-Connect, making it possible for guests of the airline to purchase G-Connect Top-up vouchers while making their booking on the website. The Mango pricing is in line with G-Connect’s prices, with prepaid ADSL data costing 3.7c per MB with a lower rate of 3.5c per MB during happy hours and weekends.

The G-Connect account can be used with ADSL, 3G/HSDPA and Wi-Fi.  3G/HSDPA prices range between 55c per MB and 62c per MB while Wi-Fi prices range between 35c per MB and 45c per MB.  Mango/G-Connect customers will also have the choice of a per-minute Wi-Fi access charge which starts at 30c per minute.

Mango CEO Nico Bezuidenhout said that the launch of G-Connect through Mango was the first of several additional ancillary revenue-generation products the airline was investigating. “In line with our mandate to deliver sustainably affordable air travel to South Africans, the ancillary products offered will reprise this philosophy. With the increasing importance of access to the internet, the availability of affordable data rates is paramount.”

“The Mango G-Connect partnership makes special sense in relation to both industries since both companies pride themselves on their endeavours to be affordable, offer value for money and maintain excellent customer service,” said Carel van der Merwe, WirelessG CEO.

Mango guests will be able to purchase prepaid data vouchers of R50, R75, R150 and R200, and the vouchers have a ‘bandwidth lifetime’ of 12 months.
